Bringing the Curtain Down on BHOPAL
Did you see BHOPAL? Those of you who did, thank you for coming out to support us. Those that couldn't make it, we hope to see you at a future BAD Company production.
This video has photos (by Swagato Basumallick) from the stage shows along with the song "Aise Kihis Bhagwan" (lyrics by the late Habib Tanveer set to original music composed and sung by Subhapriya Srivatsan.)
The Bhopal gas leak is about many critical issues - industrial safety arbitrage, corporate governance, political corruption and justice for the thousands of marginalized people who are still affected by this tragedy. Thirty years after the disaster, we added our voice to the many, many others who have fought hard to ensure the world doesn't forget what happened in Bhopal.
But, we also aspired to present good theatre; to put on a great performance for our audiences. We truly hope we were able to do justice from a creative standpoint to this important theatrical piece.
BHOPAL was the first production of our brand new theatre company. Our sincere thanks to our co-sponsors for their support- Center for South Asia, Stanford University and Institute for South Asia Studies, UC Berkeley. We are also grateful to many, many individuals - too numerous to name here- who worked hard both on and off stage to bring this play to life.
But most of all, we thank YOU - our audience. For theatre is a pursuit of passion and the passion flows directly from those who come to watch us perform.
If you would like to to stay updated on our future productions please like us on Facebook or sign up for our newsletter via our Join Us page. You can also write to us via our Join Us page if you'd like to participate in an upcoming play either as an actor or as part of the production crew.

Till next time,
- Ravi, Sindu and Basab
