Audiences Shower Their Love on ADHE ADHURE!
Last weekend’s audiences loved Adhe Adhure. Here is a sampling of what they said on social media:
No other theater company brings out the essence of a man woman relationship with so much depth and sensitivity as Bay Area Drama Company! So proud of you Tannistha Mukherjee! What an amazing debut as director. Another feather in your cap!:)
Basab Pradhan never fails to impress and this time he outdid himself by playing five characters!!! I could not help but completely surrender to and sympathies with Savitri’s character, played with so much intensity and nuance by Anju Prakash!! A great ensemble cast Mehul, Pulkit and Niveda. Kudos to all for bringing so much perfection to your imperfect characters.

Another feather in BAD’s cap. Beautifully enacted. Anju Prakash’s performance was riveting. Basab Pradhan’s costume changes were as slick as the characters he played. I particularly loved the 60s recreation of the sets with the authentic touches of Dallda tin, Bata hawai chappals etc.

I was not a big fan of theater shows before. But after watching Adhe Adhure, I am transformed into one. The tight screenplay, excellent acting by everyone in the cast, amazing set design, awesome direction and a well chosen story really blew my mind. The characters of Savitri and Mahendranath were portrayed so authentically by Anju and Basab. I came in with an expectation of watching a serious play but enjoyed the humor strewn throughout. Every scene was relatable and the director was able to extract the raw emotions from each and every cast member. Ashok, Binny and Kinny characters made us feel that they were very much part of the family yet had their own identity that they were able to bring out in their characters. I was just blown away in how there were no scene changes but we got to see 4 different characters of Basab. I got to witness great talents on stage on Friday. Amazing show and I am looking forward to the next production from BAD Co.

Really enjoyed Adhe Adhure. A great directorial debut by Tannistha. Anju was great as Savitri and gave a nicely dimensional performance of a woman dealing with familial strife and cultural expectations. She had some great emotional monologues especially at the end! Basab was great in playing five different characters and the newer cast members (Mehul, Pulkit and Niveda) all did a good job in their debuts. A nice melding of social commentary, family drama and cultural expectations.

One of the best shows I have watched in a long time (Adhe Adhure). Congratulations folks! I couldn't keep my eyes off of it, throughout the 90 minutes. Loved the setup, content, performance of artists. Keep it up!
