We don’t usually feel compelled to inform our patrons about anything other than our theatre. But this time, we couldn’t help ourselves. India Love Project, on Facebook and Instagram, is a ray of sunshine that pierces the dark clouds of religious sectarianism gathered over India. A collection of stories of people who are celebrating their inter-faith and inter-caste marriages, it builds faith in love, no matter the faith you follow.

"Curated by three journalists — husband and wife Samar Halarnkar and Priya Ramani and their friend Niloufer Venkatraman — the project is intended as an antidote to the public frenzy over “love jihad”, a rightwing concept that sees a broad conspiracy by Muslim men to seduce Hindu women to convert them to Islam."

India is the birth country of many of us. If we unshackle love, and let young people marry across religion and caste boundaries, in one generation, India will be a different country. Young Indians can show us the way.
